I was recently reminded about my trip to Cambodia last spring. It was an amazing experience.

We stayed in Siem Reap for 3 nights and did the usual tour of the temples...
Angkor Wat, Bayon(my favourite - the one with over a hundred faces carved into the stone), the `Indiana Jones one` where the temple kind of looks
as if it is growing out of a jungle...and many more.

We hired a guy to drive us around,
as it was really really cheap, and definitely worth it,
as he was really friendly and helpful in giving us a guide of all the places and food,
as well as having constant air conditioning! ;-P

One day we went to a place called the Floating Village.
I hadn't heard of it before going, so it was a nice surprise,
and I definitely recommend it as a `must-see` place if you visit Cambodia.

It's basically a village or community of people who live out on a massive
river (called the Tonle Sap I think)... you have to travel out to it by boat and can't
see land in any direction. They just live there on their boats... with no electricity.

Another `must do` is to get a foot massage - especially if you get one after a day of
walking around all the temples in the scorching heat. The masseurs give a really good
massage - and of course it's really cheap.

Food wise, try one of the Amok dishes, where they serve meat or fish curries inside a
coconut, steamed with banana leaves.

Hey everyone!

It is my turn to write a blog this week so I figured I would write about my anniversary weekend in Shirahama.

On July 1st (Canada Day) my girlfriend and I celebrated our 3rd year anniversary together.

I usually surprise her with something nice every year,

so this year I figured I would take her on a weekend trip to Shirahama.

We have been wanting to go lay on the beach, relax and get a tan

so I figured, since Shirahama has such a nice beach, it would be a perfect place to spend our anniversary.

The whole weekend was amazing; it was very relaxing for the both of us.

The first day all we did was lay on the beach, go swimming and try to get a bit of a tan.

That night we ordered room service for both our dinner and to get massages.

It was definitely a unique experience.

We had never had room service massages before, it was great!

The massage was followed by a relaxing bath in the hotels Onsens.

We had never gone to an Onsen before so it was definitely a unique experience for us.

We felt a little weird going in naked but ended up having lots of fun, we really enjoyed it!

Our second day there

we enjoyed some more time in the Onsens and on the beach

then we finally took a trip over to Adventure World.

I dont know if everyone knows what Adventure World is, but it is basically a Safari zoo

/ Amusement park all in one.

We were really happy that we decided to go there because we had a blast!

There were polar bear and dolphin shows and twin baby panda watching

but by far the best part for us was the elephant feeding!

We have never gotten up close to an elephant before but we got real close that day.

We were given cups filled with bananas and carrots to feed to the elephants.

Let me tell you, I havent had that much fun in a long time!

Just the way we were feeding the elephants was hilarious,

I couldnt stop laughing! (I guess you had to be there).

Anyways, all in all it was an amazing weekend and a wonderful anniversary.

We are definitely glad we choose to go to Shirahama to celebrate our 3 years.

If anyone is looking to take a nice weekend, I would highly recommend going to Shirahama,

and while you there, I definitely recommend taking a little trip over to Adventure World.
